Discovering Ireland: Where the Journey Began
It all started in 1987, on the wild and windswept coast of West Cork. Mary and Graham Gosling were raising their young family while running a welcoming guest house that played host to curious travellers from every corner of the globe.

Evenings were filled with laughter, shared stories, and impromptu travel advice over cups of tea and sea breezes. These nightly itinerary chats with guests sparked an idea — one that would grow into something much bigger. That year, Discovering Ireland, a travel-inspired board game, was born. It captured hearts across the country and became the bestselling family game in Ireland that Christmas. Decades later, it's still going strong, a timeless favourite on many shelves.

The Story of Gosling Gifts & Games: A West Cork Family Legacy
What began as a single game, crafted from the warmth and hospitality of a West Cork guest house, blossomed into a beloved family-run business. For over three decades, Gosling Gifts & Games thrived under Mary and Graham’s care, becoming a fixture of Irish family life.

In 2022, as Mary and Graham retired, the torch was passed on to new hands — Kevin Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald, and Paula O’Donnell. Today, the team continues the Gosling tradition with the same passion and integrity. Together with a close-knit circle of friends and family, they nurture the business, keeping it proudly Irish — in design and illustration to production and storytelling.

From that original game, the Gosling collection has grown into a vibrant portfolio of design-led gifts. Collaborating with some of Ireland’s most talented artists — including Courtney Davis, Muirghein Harding Smith, and William Helps — they’ve created striking jigsaw puzzles, original tea towels, and meaningful custom gifts. Each piece is infused with colour, charm, and character, bringing Irish culture vividly to life.

At its heart, every Gosling product is about discovery — of place, of heritage, of fun. Inspired by Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes, ancient legends, and beloved landmarks, the company’s mission is simple: to create joyful, educational experiences for all ages, rooted in a love of Ireland.
